The 3 higher ranked players were victorious on the opening day of the Championships, and I went 2/3 with my predictions.

2/2 Sharapova emulated her French Open win over (7/7) Errani 63 62. After taking a 2-0 lead, Errani scrapped back to 2-2. But from there are in, Sharapova's power proved too much, hitting 39 winners on route to her 1st win at the Champs in Istanbul.
3/3 S. Williams pulled past (5/5) Kerber 64 61. After taking a 3-0 lead with Kerber hitting too many unforced errors, Williams was pegged back as Kerber reined it in. However, Serena's smashes and net play helped her through a tough 10th game and from there are in it was comfortable, avenging her loss earlier this year in Cincinnati to the German.
4/4 A. Radwanska surprised (6/6) Kvitova 63 62. Kvitova looked nervous from the start and despite battling from 0-3 to 3-3 in the 1st set, she would lose the next 3 en route to her 1st ever loss to the Pole. Kvitova hit 41 unforced errors as she incurred her 1st loss on indoor hard courts since Moscow 2010!
